Some fresh movies from Cannes film festival that we can expect in 2017
Under the Silver Lake
Another name, well known for the Cannes film festival, David Robert Mitchell, whose atmospheric horror “It” in 2014 showed in the program “Week of criticism”. This time Mitchell took over the Noir, but removed it in modern Los Angeles. Andrew Garfield, Riley Kio, Topher grace and Jimmy Simpson busy in the film, plot details of which were not disclosed. Given the fresh perspective of the Director on the horror, I would like to think that Noir it will look different. If you enjoy historical drama TV series I suggest you to try spartacus season 1 download from Amazon for example.
Lean on Pete
Drama Briton Andrew hay’s “45 years” was very warmly received in Berlin. Artfully preparerow marriage in his picture of two years ago, Haye made a film about 15-year-old teenager. The hero goes in search of a new home for my aunt stealing a race horse named Lean on Pete. Starring: Charlie Plummer, Travis Fimmel, Chloe sevigny, Steve Buscemi, Steve Zahn.
Les fantômes d’Ismaël – Ghosts of Ishmael
French films in Cannes will be a lot, but “Ghosts of Ishmael” Arnaud Desplechin will fit perfectly in the competition, if the program Director Thierry Fremaux decided to take the movie about the film as a leitmotif. The Director (Mathieu Amalric) is preparing to shoot a new film, but suddenly returned to his former lover, and the hero’s life goes to hell. Marion Cotillard, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Alba, Rohrwacher and Louis Garrel will look great on the track with Amalric.
For that stupid name invented by domestic localizers, hiding a remake of don Siegel’s Western “Deceived”. Sofia Coppola made a film about how during the Civil war a wounded soldier finds shelter in a boarding school for girls. As the recovery of the hero staff and inmates of institutions are beginning to fight for his attention. Colin Farrell will receive the tenderness and care from the beautiful Actresses Nicole Kidman, Elle fanning, Kirsten dunst and Angouri rice.
The Shape of Water
Many already forgot that Guillermo del Toro after “Pacific rim” took the low-budget film, albeit too fantastic. Perhaps it will premiere at Venice or Toronto, but Cannes for the Director would be by the way: in 2015 he was part of the jury, it is time to be in the competition. “The condition of the water” tells the love story of a cleaning woman (Sally Hawkins) and fish-man (Doug Jones), who is being held in captivity. The action takes place in 1963 during the cold war.
George Clooney filmed a script by the Cohen brothers, on the exemplary family of the 1950s, living in town Suburbicon. Their regular life is broken monstrous invasion of the outsiders, and then an idyllic family plunges into a world of blackmail, betrayal and revenge. Clooney himself this time exclusively behind the scenes and in the frame — Matt Damon, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Julianne Moore and woody Harrelson.
You Were Never Really Here
A former FBI agent (Joaquin Phoenix), a lifetime to rescue women trapped in sex slavery, involved in a scandal with a major new York politician. After Lynne Ramsey refused to remove the Western “Jane takes a gun”, many believed that his career as Director is over. But, fortunately, this did not happen, and stage Director of the drama “something not so with Kevin” back in the saddle. I think that Cannes will take it with open arms.
